Time to Update ! Soooo much has happened since October 2013

Family from Germany!

 The first of September we had company from Germany!

Renate, Rudy and Felix came from Munich for a

visit to America.  Renate is Helmut's mother's

cousin's daughter.....say that real fast....ha ha!

 

The first picture is taken in gardens at

Thanksgiving Point.

 

 

 One day we spent some time at Deer Creek....tubing!

It's such a fun family activity.

 We really appreciated Kim and Erik bringing
their family to show our company how
it's done!   :-)

 One day we showed them Salt Lake City,

including going to a broadcast of

"The Spoken Word".

 

We had a good time while they were here and hope

they come again.

 

 

 One of the best parts of having the Kreils

come was ....all of us going to Las Vegas

so they could see Helmut's mother there.

Ricky brought grandma from Fresno !

What a great grandson :)

 

Can you believe we took our company from

Germany to the Hoffbrau in Las Vegas?!

Luckily they enjoyed the food....

Nana/Papa Camp July 2013

One of the funnest things we did this

summer was Nana/Papa Camp!

We have done this for several years. 

The camps just get better

and better and the teen-agers get

more awesome and more awesome!

We had the first Nana/Papa Camp when
McKyna was about 12 and she just turned 18.

Summer Days

So.....Where did the summer go?

It sure wasn't a Lazy, Hazy Summer!

I have posted a part of what we did,

but not everything.......

We were coming and going constantly!

It felt like we were either gone or

had company......or getting ready to go

somewhere or to receive company?!

What a whirlwind life has been since

Helmut retired :) So much for relaxing in

our old-age.

We aren't complaining.....Life is Great!

New Waterfall........at last!

 We have wanted a waterfall in our yard since we moved

into this house almost 14 years ago........ta da!

Helmut has worked hard all summer on

a variety of yard projects. He deserves some

down time and we have the perfect place on

the new deck with a view of the waterfall :)

Since Helmut retired he has done soooo many

things in our home and yard....I love it!

What have I been doing? Well wherever you see
flowers and no weeds....that's where I have
been working :)
I am sad that the summer is almost over
because it means my mornings in the garden
are drawing to a close for this year.
Sure hope I am assigned to work in the
flower beds in heaven!  That would
be heaven to me.

This is our vegetable garden.....it's been

very productive !

We can't wait to harvest the pumpkins

for Halloween.

Fun at the Lake with Papa's Boat

We have been looking at boats for 10 years!

It's perfect for all kinds of family fun!

Helmut finally got his "dream boat"!

We have been to the lake twice ..

both times we went to Deer Creek.

The fishing wasn't so good, but the

tubing was great :) Being with our
kids and grand-children is the

Fun Summer Days!

July 4th 2013 in Henderson

Most of the family was in Henderson, Nevada for

the 4th of July.....the heat was a killer,

but luckily we were able to keep cool in Kim

and Erik's pool. We enjoyed a parade,

family barbecue and fireworks.
